Computer Engineering dictates the world solves challenges by using technology and science to the maximum potential and creativity. The very way we live and evolve each day is dependent on computer engineers, who create, design, produce, operate and maintain the world’s equipment and services as well as to solve future life challenges. Opportunities in the CpE field are virtually endless and the specialized education that CpE undergraduate students receive from the School EECS prepares graduates for successful and profitable lifelong careers.

The undergraduate Computer Engineering (CpE) program for the Bachelor of Science degree is offered by the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at UCF.

CpE students have many unique advantages at UCF:

  • EECS’s Senior Design courses for CpE majors are a dynamic and exciting real-life experience courses and is a vehicle for students to demonstrate their engineering skills acquired through academic study. Senior Design is a centerpiece of the CpE undergraduate educational experience.
  • CpE students are assigned a qualified academic advisor. Each student should seek academic advisement before registering for classes each semester to minimize excess hours and to ensure that satisfactory academic progress is being maintained.
  • EECS has prestigious research programs for undergraduates (REUs). EECS has been an NSF REU site in Computer Vision since NSF started the program in 1987 and has been home to many other undergraduate research experiences in a variety of topics including Machine Learning.
  • Student organizations such as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Chapter, Eta Kappa Nu (ECE Honor Society), and Women in EECS provide real-life benefits including networking, face-to-face meetings with experts and career experience.
  • UCF’s Eta Kappa Nu chapter at UCF is extremely active and has events throughout the year. You can learn more at: http://www.hkn.ucf.edu/
  • The School’s new home is the Harris Corp. Engineering Center — an ultra high-tech building with revolutionary equipment, computers and labs for students.
