Biography: Gita Sukthankar recently completed her Ph.D. at Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Previously, she received an A.B cum laude in psychology from Princeton University and an M.S. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon. From 2000-2003, she worked as a researcher at HP Labs (CRL) in the handheld computing group before returning to Carnegie Mellon for her Ph.D. She is the 2005 winner of the Best Student paper award at the International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS) and the 2006 Microsoft Graduate Research Fellowship finalist. Gita is on the program committee of the AAMAS conference and the AAAI workshop on Modelling Othersfrom Observations. Her areas of interest are artificial itelligence, plan/activity recognition, and multi-agent systems.
